ACTS RVA – Area Congregations Together in Service

Area Congregations Together in Service (ACTS) is a channel for the compassion and generosity of individuals and faith communities across Greater Richmond that offers help and hope to people and families who are at risk of becoming homeless.

This program provides:

  • Rent, mortgage and utility assistance
  • Personal care items
  • Connections to other community resources

Circles RVA

The CirclesRVA model empowers individuals and families to permanently move out of poverty and thrive by engaging the strengths, goodwill and existing resources of the entire community. The focus is on community ownership of problems and solutions to break the cycle of poverty. The Circles model is being used in over 70 communities nationwide, with promising results.

Episcopal Relief and Development

Episcopal Relief & Development works in collaboration with church partners and other local organizations to facilitate healthier, more fulfilling lives in communities that are struggling with hunger, poverty, disaster and disease. They also work around the world and here in the US responding to and rebuilding after disasters.

Liberation Veterans Services

Liberation Veterans Service (LVS) partners with three teams of parishioners at St. Paul’s who cook, serve and eat meal with the Vets who are utilizing LVS’s services. These teams rotate monthly and this ministry provides an opportunity for fellowship and relationship building. CLICK HERE to visit their website.

Micah Initiative

The Micah Initiative provides support and mentoring to the Woodville Elementary School community. Volunteers can help support the student/school by mentoring, becoming classroom assistants, being a reading buddy and running small groups such as book groups and chess clubs. St. Paul’s partners with Communities in Schools (CIS), as well as many other community partners in order to support the students, families, faculty and staff.

RISC – Richmonders Involved to Strengthen our Communities

RISC – Richmonders Involved to Strengthen our Communities is a justice ministry comprising more than 22 congregations throughout Richmond, Henrico and Chesterfield. VITA Tax Assistance

VITA Tax Assistance is a collaboration with the University of Richmond to provide space and volunteers, for the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The program offers free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals during tax season.
