Strategic Reorientation Process Next Steps

by the Rev. Charlie Dupree

The beginning of a church year brings a lot of activity to a church system, much of which happens behind the scenes. After a short lull, it’s not long before we implement what’s next. In the case of St. Paul’s, our patterns call for preparations for the Annual Parish Meeting, Vestry elections, the Lenten Lunch and Speaker Series, St. Paul’s Sunday, hosting General Assembly groups, and, of course, Ash Wednesday. All of this happens in the midst of the regular “changes and chances” of life.

Another part of our life together is the Strategic Reorientation Process. This process is designed to check the temperature of the congregation to make sure we’re in alignment about what we consider critical to our mission and vision. As we emerge from COVID and are back “on track,” we want to get a sense of what we value and how we want to focus our energy and resources in the next 3-5 years. You may have taken part in one of our listening sessions, which were designed to hear from as many of our parishioners as possible. To ensure that we’ve created space to hear from you, we have another opportunity for you to offer your opinion and feedback.

This link will take you to a survey that shares our current findings It also asks you to help us add further focus and clarity to the “compass” that we are creating through this process. The survey is yet another way for the vestry, lay leadership, and staff to factor in your perspective about the present and future of St. Paul’s. Please take a few minutes to give it your attention.

It’s an exciting time in the life of St. Paul’s. Particularly at this time, I’m so thankful for the many leaders who embody the love, justice, and compassion of Jesus. See below for important information about our Second Sunday events at St. Paul’s, and a few updates about Stone Soup.

See you in church,
