Flourishing in Faith: Pausing to Be With God, One Another, and Ourselves
During this Eastertide parish retreat, you will be invited into a vision of flourishing in your faith, your community, and your life. Many of us carry the stress of our responsibilities–caring for children or elders, jobs, various commitments–and the heartache of the world. In the sacred space of this retreat, we will come together to slow down and reconnect with ourselves, one another, and The Holy. Guided by the Rev. Callie Swanlund–Episcopal priest, spiritual companion, and coach trained in the wisdom of professor, author, and storyteller Brené Brown–this retreat will take us on a journey recalling ourselves as resurrected people and learning the many facets of flourishing that can be found in faith communities and spiritual practices. Callie will share theology, research, and grounded faith tools for finding wholeness from her forthcoming book, From Weary to Wholehearted: A Restorative Resource for Overcoming Clergy Burnout (despite the subtitle, the book and this topic are for anyone experiencing stress or overwhelm, or wanting deeper flourishing). Our weekend will include time for fellowship, heartfelt prayer and meaningful reflection, nourishing experiences and rest, and an opportunity to forge lasting connections.
