Education for Ministry (EfM) Returning to St. Paul’s
Registration for EfM begins August 1
Wondering what you believe? Wondering where you might be called to minister? The Education For Ministry program (EfM) gives participants the tools to better identify our ministries. Tools such as history books, some guidance on The History Book (the Bible), new prayers and new ways of praying, exposure to new ways of thinking and a small group of trusted sojourners to bounce things off of. We actually refrain from discussing church, though we may discuss The Church.
With these tools, we’re able to figure out what stays in and what goes out of our belief system for where we are today. Where the world is today. Where The Church is today. In this way, we become free again to “minister,” whether that’s to heal, to teach, to continue learning, to feed, to write, to listen. And we are able to take that ministry where it’s most needed.
St. Paul’s will convene an EfM seminar group weekly from September 2019 to June 2020. We will most likely meet at the church on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday from 4-6 p.m.
Registration forms will be available online and in the church office beginning August 1. For scholarship assistance and help with the registration form, contact St. Paul’s Minister for Faith Formation, Keli Cooper at firstname.lastname@example.org or (804) 643-3589.
