Stone Soup is an annual micro-fundraiser dinner based on the story of stone soup, in which many people give a little to make a soup that feeds everyone. Each attendee at Stone Soup pays a donation of $15 for a bowl of soup. We also accept donations from those who cannot attend or want to give more. All the donations are pooled together and divided evenly among the three organizations working in our community.
We ask each of the organizations to give a presentation during dinner about a specific project they would fund if given a grant of $500. The goal each year is to raise a total of $1,500.
Stone Soup will be held online through Zoom on Sunday, February 21st at 6:00 p.m. You will be able to pick up your soup to go from St. Paul’s on Sunday, February 21st between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. We will also be delivering to Westminster Canterbury and Imperial Plaza.
This year, the three organizations are recipients of grants from the St. Paul’s Covid-19 Relief Fund (Birdhouse Farmer’s Market, Shalom Farms, and The Underground Kitchen Community Project). While you are enjoying your soup, each organization will give a short presentation on their work during the pandemic and how a grant from Stone Soup can help them do more. The entire program should last about an hour.
Even though we can’t be together in person this year, it will be a spirit-filled evening that you won’t want to miss.
Below you can order soup, sign up for raffle tickets, or just make a donation to the event. If you have questions about the event, e-mail Laura Carr.
