We are delighted to announce St. Paul’s will be offering an exciting Lenten series in 2019. This year’s theme will be “City of God.”
A committed group of people, who have served in the past and who serve in the current program, have planned and envisioned this series to provide a stimulating and thought provoking opportunity for those who attend downtown programs in Lent. Our speakers for 2019 will be representative of a truly interfaith community and we anticipate sermons that will be timely and engaging.
In the light of the changing workplace and population around us, we have decided to focus our efforts on a major offering one day a week (Wednesdays) throughout Lent. This offering will be supported by extensive publicity throughout the city.
The 2019 series will offer six Wednesday lunches, followed by the sermon series. There will be a single seating for lunch, with carryout also available. The first Wednesday, Ash Wednesday (March 6th), will offer the Imposition of Ashes rather than a speaker. The following five Wednesdays, starting March 13, will feature the preaching series with guest clergy offering worship and sermons from Unitarian Universalist, Jewish, Islamic, and Christian traditions.
We hope you will feel encouraged to participate in this signature program at St. Paul’s and enjoy all it has to offer by attending the services and offering your time as a volunteer. Please be on the lookout for more details about this exciting program!
