Faith Formation: Greek Scripture Study

This Lent, don’t give up chocolate; commit to seeing Scripture in a new way! Beth Hadar will lead a Bible study focusing on the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10) in the original Greek. Beth has been at St. Paul’s for six years, leading the Monday afternoon Biblical Greek group for much of that time.

The Lenten sessions will focus on slow, close reading, basics of the language, imaginative word study, and use of reference materials to deepen understanding. NO KNOWLEDGE OF GREEK IS REQUIRED! This series will take place in the Library on the first floor.

You can also sign up to receive a brief meditation on a letter of the Greek alphabet. On the twenty-four weekdays between Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday, your inbox could have a short paragraph exploring a letter of the Greek alphabet and an interesting word from Scripture that starts with that letter. These emails are separate from (but will accompany) the Faith Formation offering about the Beatitudes in Greek.

This series will take place on the following Sundays: March 10, 17, 24, 31 and April 7 @ 9 a.m.

You can sign up by sending an email to koinerva@gmail.com or by signing up in the gathering space.
