What will be different about this year’s meeting?
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and public health and safety requirements, this year’s Annual Meeting will be held online through Zoom. Because the meeting will be held virtually, the Vestry has determined that the voting process for the new Vestry Class will be simplified to a single slate of one nominee per seat open on the Vestry. After an open nomination process, the nominations committee nominated four willing parishioners to serve on the Vestry, and recommends them as a slate for the four open positions (profiles of candidates below). Under this temporary approach for the 2021 Annual Meeting election, each voting member of the parish who is present at the online Annual Meeting may vote to accept or reject the slate. After 2021, we plan to return to our previous method of electing Vestry.
How can I access the Annual Meeting?
We will be using the same Zoom login/link that we use for our weekly virtual coffee hour. See links below. We are also asking people to register for the meeting and use this as an opportunity to update your contact information.

Who can participate in the Annual Meeting?
Anyone is welcomed and encouraged to participate in the Annual Meeting, however, in order to vote in the Vestry election, you must be present at the Annual Meeting and be an “Adult Communicant in Good Standing” at St. Paul’s. There are three elements to being an “Adult Communicant in Good Standing” under Canon I.17.2 of the Canons of the Episcopal Church:
- An “adult” is someone sixteen years of age or older;
- A “communicant” is a member of the Episcopal Church who has received Holy Communion in the Church at least three times during the preceding year (or participated faithfully in online services – due to change in worshipping because of COVID);
- A communicant “in good standing” is one who for the previous year has been faithful in corporate worship, unless for good cause prevented, and has been faithful in working, praying, and giving for the spread of the Kingdom of God.
How will voting occur?
We will be using the “polling” tool that the online Zoom platform provides. When the time to vote a poll will pop up on your screen, where you will be asked to accept or reject the slate.
