"…Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream" - AMOS 5:24
Amos is St.Paul's social justice ministry. It is closely aligned with RISC (Richmonders Involved to Strengthen our Communities).
In April 2014, for RISC's annual Nehemiah Action, over 60 St. Paul's team participants joined 1300 individuals from area faith communities meeting at Good Shepherd Baptist Church to advocate for training and jobs for residents in Richmond East End.
The quest for a just kingdom is a large undertaking but it begins in small ways as we proclaim Christ in our thoughts, words and deeds here on Grace Street in the heart of the city.
St. Paul’s Amos ministry, has been active in areas such as:
- Advocating for issues pertinent to the Episcopal faith through Episcopal Lobby Day, in partnership with the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy
- Supporting advances in Public Transportation (RVA Rapid Transit)
- Working to prevent Gun violence
You can help make a difference in our city by participating in St. Paul's Amos/RISC team. Participation as a RISC team member at St. Paul's includes attending two RISC meetings in the fall and three in the spring, plus quarterly meetings with our team held after church on Sundays.
