Capital Campaign and Project Congregational Update

Forum: Capital Campaign and Project Congregational UPdate

The vestry, wardens, and committee chairs will hold a forum to update the congregation on the progress and plans for renovations to the worship space, parish hall, and parking garage, as well as the capital campaign, at 9:00 a.m. in Scott Hall on Sunday, June 11.

An update from the co-chairs of the Renovation Implementation team:

At its March meeting, the Vestry approved moving forward with the renovation of our worship space and Parish Hall in 2018.  Our architects and general contractor are now working on construction documents and making formal plans for the materials needed for the project.  This means that St. Paul’s is committed to the completion of this project during 2018.  The church, chapel and undercroft will remain open through next Easter, and then will close for the renovations.  The work should be completed by the end of October 2018.  In the late summer we will upgrade the Parish Hall with an improved audio/video system.  This will be completed before Homecoming Sunday in September.

Sunday Worship will be conducted in the Parish Hall while the church is closed and we are hoping this will provide and opportunity to experience worship in a new and exciting way with the intimacy that space provides.  All the programs that are normally held in the undercroft and church will find temporary homes in the Parish House.

As we prepare for the time when the church is closed, and for the time when we reopen our doors to a renovated worship space, we are creating several new teams to make sure it all happens smoothly and creatively.  If you are interested in joining any of these, please contact either one of us:

  • Worship in the interim - planning and administering worship in the Parish Hall, Sundays and week days.
  • Worship in Renovated Church - Furniture, logistics, hangings, linens.
  • Disposition/Reuse of material no longer required, including pews, marble, chapel altar.
  • Chapel Arrangements - worship logistics, decorations, furnishings.
  • Logistics in Parish House including Emmaus, youth.

This is an exciting time in the history of St. Paul's.  We urge you to join us in this venture
