Director of Outreach
Betsy Carr is St. Paul’s Director of Outreach, which encompasses our Micah, Emmaus, Global Missions, Amos, Eyes on Richmond and Jazz Lunches ministries. In addition, she serves as a member in the House of Delegates. She represents the 69th District with neighborhoods north and south of the James River.
Kathy Coleman joined the staff at St. Paul’s over 28 years ago as a Parish Secretary after previously working at an advertising agency as an Administrative Assistant. She came to Richmond from Northern Virginia to attend VCU. She graduated, married and moved to Chesterfield where she lives with her husband, their daughter, Brittany and granddaughter, Jada.
Mike is a Richmond native who's been at St. Paul's for four years. He loves the people and the atmosphere here, especially the outreach ministries and the way that they help people. In his spare time, Mike enjoys travelling and eating good food. He loves to talk football and is a devoted fan of the Cowboys. He also roots for the Lakers.
Director of Communications
Gail Goldsmith earned her Master of Divinity at The University of Chicago Divinity School, with coursework at Bexley Seabury, and her bachelor's in journalism and advertising at Marist College. Most recently, she served as chaplain for pediatrics and nephrology at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. She has worked as a copywriter, research associate, and volunteer coordinator. Gail enjoys hiking, strength training, and reading about history and theology.
Mernard grew up in Richmond, Virginia and has worked at St. Paul's for three years. He loves coming to work and always has a smile on his face. He is dedicated to practicing Tae Bo, and also enjoys running.
Karen Harris has been assistant organist/choir director at St. Paul’s since 1992. She holds undergraduate degrees in music education and piano performance from Ohio Northern University and a Master’s in organ performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has taught music in both public and private schools for many years, currently in the Hanover County School system at Henry Clay Elementary School in Ashland. Karen is married to Gene Harris, who has sung in the St. Paul’s choirs since 1981. Together they have five children, two of whom also sing in the choirs at St. Paul’s.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, Aliesha has been with St. Paul’s for over 11 years, where she has worked in the business office as their Financial Administrator/Accountant. Aliesha works with the St. Paul’s clergy, staff and lay leadership providing financial reporting and accounting for the church’s financial and contribution records.
Carter has been at St. Paul’s for nearly three years as the receptionist and administrative assistant. When not at St. Paul’s or driving a carpool, she can be found rock climbing or kayaking on the Richmond rapids.
Director of Adult Formation & Youth Ministries
Originally from Sterling, Virginia, Pete taught middle school Phys Ed for five years before moving to New Orleans in 2008 to rebuild houses flooded by Hurricane Katrina. In his six years in NOLA Pete was the Mission and Volunteer Coordinator for Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana. He also co-founded an Episcopal Service Corps program called the Living With Purpose Fellowship, a service-learning program focused on Faith, Service, and Intentional Christian community. He is passionate about formation for both adults and children, and loves writing, exploring, and deep conversations. His favorite author is Walker Percy, and he makes a mean barbecued shrimp.
Linda has been at St. Paul’s for 16 years starting out in Outreach doing financial aid and taking over as the property manager in 2000. Linda says that the “…biggest reward in this job is meeting and getting to know the parish of this church. They have supported me and my family through good times and the sad times.”
Dr. Christopher Reynolds
Director of Music & Organist
Dr. Christopher Reynolds was appointed Director of Music and Organist at St. Paul’s in January of 2016, where he serves as organist and director of a full choral program affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music. Prior to this appointment, Christopher was the Associate Director of Music at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Christopher previously served as Newsletter Editor, Sub Dean, and Dean of the Detroit Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO). In 2009, Christopher was a featured performer in a AGO DVD special about Marilyn Mason. Christopher holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance and Church Music from the University of Michigan, studying with world renowned organist, Dr. Marilyn Mason. He also earned both a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, with a Performance Certificate in Organ, and a Master of Music in Organ Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. Former teachers include Dr. David Kelley, Dr. Steven Cooksey, and Dr. W. Dudley Oakes. Christopher holds the Choirmaster Certificate from the AGO and is also active with the Association of Anglican Musicians.
Jonti has been serving as the Micah/Communities In Schools Site Coordinator at Woodville Elementary since August of 2012 where she works to coordinate our many volunteers and community partnerships. Jonti graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with degrees in Political Science, Sociology, and a Master's of Social Work Administration, Policy and Program Planning. She enjoys baking, traveling, and eating delicious food.
Director of Children's & Family Ministries
A native Richmonder, Linda has been at St. Paul's for 9 years. Linda holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and a BS in Education. In addition to overseeing Children's Ministries at St. Paul's, Linda is Director of Grace Covenant Community School. One of her favorite hobbies is exploring genealogy.
Director of Administration & Finance
Prior to joining the St. Paul’s team in January 2014, Rich enjoyed a 28-year career in the country club industry as a General Manager and Golf Course Superintendent. Rich is originally from Long Island, New York, and now he, along with his wife Angie and daughter Jeanne, reside in Powhatan, where they belong to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Rich is a Virginia Tech graduate, enjoys playing and coaching sports, and traveling with his family.
Outreach Social Worker
Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Hana is a recent graduate of the VCU Master of Social Work Program, with a concentration in Social Work Administrative, Planning and Policy Practice. She also holds her Bachelor of Social Work also from VCU. She has worked with numerous organizations throughout the Greater Richmond area, ranging from small grassroots non-profits to large state wide agencies.
